Things to do When Visiting Canterbury

Canterbury is a great place to visit as it is a very historical city with a lot to see. It is also a very European city and many people visit for the day or come here for a holiday as it is so close to Europe.

This also makes Canterbury a great place to come to learn English. Students who study in Canterbury feel very at home because they can mix with people from a variety of cultures. The city is also small which makes it very accessible for new visitors.

There are plenty of things to do when visiting Canterbury. The cathedral is obviously the most famous landmark and has been a place of pilgrimage for people from all over Europe for thousands of years.

Parts of Canterbury are also medieval so there are plenty of old streets and buildings to admire. If you take a walk off the high street there are many ancient medieval streets to explore that are full of character and atmosphere.

Canterbury is also a great place for shopping. There is a modern shopping centre at the top of the city and plenty of shops all the way down the pedestrianised high street.
